My witching series; mixy mix

As a witch baking comes naturally.

With the sun inching down, baking feels like a daydream. The golden light filling the room as Laufey's vocals sing "Everything I Know About Love"
Everything I know about love (hmm-hmm)
I don't know that much at all, I trip, I fall

There's something so fitting about doing something so well but still thinking you don't understand it at all. it's interesting as humans (not me I'm a witch) we've developed with such complex desires and emotions, we need to find ways to output our feelings before we explode in undignified out bursts.

That's baking for me. Being able to mix a bowl full of sugar, vanilla and everything nice, allows me to put all stress and I guess love (?) into something people enjoy. Although, I cannot eat majority of the bake goods I make, there's something so pleasing when people show appreciation, enjoyment and actual fulfillment through your food, it's literal magic. It fuels my passion for it. This especially happens when people make requests, I ABOSOLUETLY LOVE IT, it shows appreciation for my baking and that they prefer it better which is a massive ego boost.

I also like it as it stops me from doomscrolling, which is a bad habit I definitely need to break but it's difficult to when you wanna keep up with the latest trends, and/or when you're a marketing major.

During this semester break I want to pick up every possible hobby I can~ is it ambitious? Most definitely, as the center of the 'Romantic Movement' Johanna Wolfgang von Goethe once said:

"Dream no small dreams, for they have no power to move the hearts of men." — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

So, we must be ambitious! We must add to our list of activities we shall do as a group, we shall do them throughout this break and all year 'round.

For Today's baking... well yesterday, I'm writing this a couple minutes past midnight; I madeeeeeeeeeee cinnamon rollsss~

I shall share my secrets:

Dough:

2 and 3/4 cups of all purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 tsp salt

3/4 cups milk

3 tbps butter (43g)

2 and 1/4 tsp yeast

 Filling:

3 Tbps (43g) butter

1/3 cups brown sugar

1 tbps ground cinnamon

Icing

3 cups icing sugar

3 Tbps (43g) butter (or more hehe)

Vanilla - only stop 'til your ancestors tell you to "stop"

Milk - a couple big splashes :)

Instructions:

Whisk together Flour, sugar and salt together in a large bowl. Then put to the side.
Then Combine milk and butter together in a heatproof bowl and heat until butter is melted, make sure it isn't too hot, just warm to the touch. Then whisk in the yeast. After, pour into the dry ingredients and mix until the dough forms.

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead the dough until smooth - not too sticky or soft, it has to be juust right! Grease a bowl, allow the dough to rest in it for 10 minutes while you get the filling readyy!

Really soften the butter, but NOT melted, and combine all the ingredients together. and put to the side.

After 10 minutes, roll out your dough into a rectangle, don't roll it out too thin! Once dough is rectangle spread the filling onto the dough evenly. Then roll the dough like a scroll then cut into 12-13 pieces and put into your tray.

Now allow the dough to rise for 60-90 minutes in a warm area with a tea towel on top. This also could be in the oven with the oven light on (no temp).

After the dough has risen, take out the dough out of the oven, IF placed there to rise and preheat the oven for 10-12 minutes at 190c and then bake for 24-27 minutes or until slightly brown.

Make the icing while it bakes, use a hand mixer to combine everything in a medium or large bowl.

THEN ENJOY, I love it when its hottt! yummers
