As you can see there's various artist featured, alongside different genres. While listening to this playlist you can go from a emotional depth song to listening to "Zombies on Your Lawn" it's a chaotic and unhinged listen as the genres featured are: Internet Rap, Cartoon theme songs/soundtracks, musicals, Alt-pop and indie pop. It's definitely one of the more whimsical, upbeat and fast paced playlists of the groups. Throughout this review, hopefully I can capture how genuinely chaotic this playlist is, it was very entertaining to listen to, I found myself caught off guard many times. I was actually listening to this playlist while on the way to Taupo, I would smile every time the genre switched, might've looked insane to the ordinary, but oh well.
To start us off the 'shuffle' thing on Spotify picked "girl i've always been" by Olivia Rodrigo!!!
I may be biased.... WHAT A BANGER TO START OFF OF! She explores themes of identity, resilience and emotional struggle - The lyrics reflect a sense of self-awareness on how she reacts when she faces criticism about her character while trying to keep her integrity! This song is a more country and southern twang than her other songs but still fits her image, LOVE HER.
Now, time for one of my favourites featured on this playlist...: "Enormous Penis" By Da Vinci's Notebook.
I took a double take. It's a comedic acapella, very cheerful a great song to listen to when down! the song captures what it is like to go through life unhappy and without any hope~ The singer(s) HAS A SOLUTION THOUGH, to make it allllll betterr, can you guess it? He reveals that it's his enormous penis! "I take a look at my enormous penis" That line is repeated, its definitely a song I will continue to listen to. this song highlights finding happiness in the odd things which again is his enormous penis :)
Our first Soundtrack from a Musical "Come Alive" By The Greatest Showman!
Wonderful film, The song is mainly performed by Hugh Jackman and some of the other cast members, it celebrates transformation and self-expression, the song encourages us to embrace life fully and pursue our full potential. They lyrics begin with "you're just a dead man walking" depicting a life just to exists but not actually living. Then in the chorus sings "come alive, come alive / Go and light your light, let it burn so bright" It depicts to be an awakening to find passions and living life to the fullest! A fantastic song for motivation.
"Wet Hands" By C418
A gentle song for when we survived another night in Minecraft. This song shows no lyrics but exhibits a neutral but happy leaning vibe. It was a nice break from all vocals, I don't know much about pianos, but it was exquisite to listen to.
"Made You Look" By Meghan Trainor.
She only features one this playlist once, but she fits rightt in! We've all probably have listened to this song when out and about in town, it's an upbeat song about self-confidence and empowerment. It's about her owning her presences regardless of what people label her as, it about her loving and respecting herself before anyone else. She diminishes societal pressure of beauty standards and materialism; it's definitely a song to dance to for a better day~
"Your New Home" By Gooseworx
THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS MENTIONED!! This song is just instrumentals of the theme song~ UGHH I ACTUALLY LOVE IT, BECAUSE IT SHOWS THE INVOLUNTARY OCCUPANCY IN THE DIGITAL REALM! Because it's all grand and trying to glorify them being there when in realityyyy they dread it theree! out of entire soundtrack I love this one the most!
"Breakin' Dishes" By Rihanna
Adding a R&B / dance-pop into the mix! IT'S A PUSSYPOPSLAYQUEEN TYPA SONG! This song always eats upppp! This song is about empowerment and some themes of confrontation as she addresses her cheating partner (as she should) she expresses her frustration through vivid imagery with lines like "I'm breaking dishes up in here, all night - I ain't gon' stop until I see police lights" There are very few songs that really capture true female rage, this song captures it! (mostly)
Now, I doubt this truly captures the playlist's essence, but this song adds to it "Yakko's World" By Animaniacs.
This song is literally just naming all the countries, its brilliant to help remember it all! No need to expound, its brilliance speaks for itself!
Now... when shuffling another Olivia Rodrigo appeared, I could write another thing about her lyrics buttt I do remember we have a couple.. haters.. so, I shuffled again and Spotify picked.. "Levitating" By Dua Lipa
Now, there's only a couple of her songs on this playlist 3 being from the same album and 1 being an exception. "Levitating" is one of those songs I skipped continuously (in the past) because it was over played, but now coming back to it and properly listening to it I can come to appreciate it and enjoy it, this song is right up my alley! It portrays the intense joy and excitement of falling in love, when the love is sooo strong it elevates your ordinary life as its like a new adventure to feel a deep human connection using lines like "My love is like a rocket, watch it blast off" what a great depiction! It's a good song feel-good song as well, the upbeat-ness of it all creates a good dance circle!
LAST SONG "Numb Little Bug" By Em Beihold.
First off, I feel this song so much, The singer reflects on her experiences with depression and emotional numbness. She sings about her detachment from emotions in a very colourful way, which just adds more to the conceptt! With Lyrics like "Do you ever get a little bit tired of life? Like you're not really happy, but you don't wanna die" very concerning lyrics sung in a bright, piano-driven pop sound. It's a great song to resonate with, especially now in this society.
Honorable mentions:
Murine Corps - Kristofer Maddigan
Mr. Blue Sky - Electric Light Orchestra
Runaway - AURORA
Hey Ya! - Outkast
Wii Sports Theme - The Greatest Bits
I thoroughly enjoy this playlist, it's very entertaining it's like an audio scrapbook of internet humor with bits of realism! Will definitely come back to this playlist whenever I'm down :P

I gave this playlist has 2 rules when I created it in year 9, no removing songs and no skipping unless absolutely necessary (I may queue songs). It has the evolution of my listening habits on it and I place only a few songs even just 1 from artists that I have listened to as a reminder / memory thing. So that each song there has a vibe or connection to it. I will def keep adding to it, don't know if I want to start a new play list or not. Was planning on it but never did and kept adding.
ReplyDeleteI love the playlist; those rules definitely created a masterpiece! awhh i love that every song is connected! If you do make a new playlist, can I listen ?
